About Superstructures - The Team
James Potter BSc CEng MIStructE
Superstructures was founded by James and he is the Managing Director of the business. James is a Chartered Structural Engineer with experience in a wide range of building structures, big and small.
James studied Art and Design, Graphical Communication and Physics at A-level and went on to complete a degree in Industrial Design and Technology at Loughborough University. After graduating with a BSc Hons degree in 2003 he has worked in all areas of the profession from undertaking site investigations, and working in the drawing office to leading structural engineering services for large projects in many sectors of construction.
It is James' background in design and subsequent experience in structural engineering practice that combine to produce a fresh approach to our projects.
Mark Hayward BEng IEng AMIStructE

Mark Hayward is a director at Superstructures and is an Incorporated Structural Engineer. He complements James' strong design ethos with his practical and straight forward approach to complex structures.
Mark graduated from Nottingham university with a degree in Civil Engineering. Following his graduation Mark spent a number of years working on site for a Civil Engineering contractor. He gained valuable practical experience which means he can easily relate to the problems involved on construction sites. Marks experience enables him to create designs which are simple, effective and efficient.
Prior to joining Superstructures Mark spent 7 years working for a Civil and Structural design consultancy, working on a wide variety of projects from small extensions to multi-million pound care homes. He has a keen interest in sustainable design, most notably timber frame construction.
Darren Noller IEng AMIStructE
Darren Noller is a consultant at Superstructures. Darren has over 20 years of structural engineering experience, meaning he has a detailed working knowledge of every aspect of the profession. Along with the extensive practical engineering side, Darren has an in depth knowledge of the theoretical principals of engineering which he passes on to the more junior members of the team as well as students at the local university during his time as a lecturer there.
It is Darren's depth and breadth of knowledge that helps us to undertake any structural engineering challenge.
Craig Carr 
Craig is a Structural Engineering Assistant at Superstructures. Craig worked for 5 years in the drawing office before moving into structural design. This background provides him with a great knowledge of how buildings go together and combines with his development in structural design to give a rounded knowledge base. Having also worked on the ground investigation side, there are few areas of the profession he doesn't have a working knowledge of.
Craig is working his way towards chartered status with the completion of his Civil Engineering degree not far away.
Simon Howes
Simon is a Graduate Structural Engineer at Superstructures, having graduated from Leeds University with a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering. Since graduating Simon has spent 3 years working in the industry gaining the practical knowledge to back up his edcuational base. Simon works on projects of varying sizes in the office and enjoys the challenges that come with them.
Having completed his Masters degree he is in the final stages of working towards Chartered status.
Chris Coleman

Chris is a Structural Technician at Superstructures and has moved in to structural design after spending the early part of his career working in the drawing office. Chris' drawing experience gives him a great knowledge of how structures fit together, along with the ability to produce excellent structural layouts and details for his own designs.
Chris is currently studying his Civil Engineering degree course part time and also completing his EngTech qualification with the Institution of Structural Engineers.
Rozanne Patrick

Rozanne works in accounts and administration and is responsible for keeping the important numbers in order, project files meticulously organised and client databases current.
Rozanne has an uncompromising approach to organisation, which provides essential background support to the projects that we work on as a team.
