NHBC Certification (20.05.2014)
Superstructures are now registered with the NHBC as approved timber frame certifiers. Any conventional timber frame dwelling being constructed under the NHBC standards requires certification by an independent Structural Engineer . This certificate was known as a HB353B and has now been replaced by the HB2445 certificate. Superstructures are able to offer this certification along with our extensive knowledge in timber frame design.
The Bartlet Hospital (24.10.2013)
We are very pleased to announce that we are working with the award winning developer Gipping Homes on the conversion of the Bartlet Hospital in Felixstowe. Gipping Homes are undertaking the conversion of the former convalescence hospital on the sea front into a number of apartments. Further small new-build town house developments are also planned on other areas of the site. The existing building is partly constructed off the foundations of the martello tower which occupied the site prior to the construction of the hospital and this combined with very tight listed building constraints and some interesting forms of existing construction gives a very exciting and challenging project. Keep an eye on our projects page for information as the scheme progresses.
We Have Moved.... (12.11.2012)
We are pleased to officially anounce that we have moved. We now have a town centre office in a prime location with meeting room facilities and most importantly room to grow a little. Superstructures Go Back to School (25.10.2012)
James has returned to university over the last few weeks - sadly not to the student lifestyle, but to undertake some lecturing at Anglia Ruskin University. He has been working with 2nd year undergraduate students on the BSc (Hons) Architecture degree course with their latest design practice assignment. Along with being amazed by the students innovative thoughts on Architectural concepts for the project, he has been attempting to make them aware of some of the practical and engineering issues involved in real world building projects..... whilst trying not to take all of the fun out of it of course.
Superstructures Designed Building at Chelsea Flower Show (25.05.2012)
A superstructures designed orangery featured at this years Chelsea Flower Show. The structure took the form of a SIPs frame (Sips Eco Panels) and temporary foundations consisted of railway sleepers with steel connectors (not quite our normal approach to foundations!) Our client English Glasshouse created a fantastic exhibit showcasing a stunning kitchen, complete with a working AGA cooker, which played host to a very impressive collection of celebrities.
The key factor in the Superstructures design was speed. The whole structure was erected and finished in 8 days!
Superstructures Elected Member of UK SIPS Association (07.04.2012)
Superstructures have now been elected a member of the UK Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs) Association. Following a number of successful SIPs design projects we were recommended to the association by SIPs Eco Panels.
Superstructures are very adept at undertaking structural designs in SIPs panel systems along with traditional timber frame. Structurally insulated panels are an advanced method of construction offering ecologically friendly and energy efficient buildings.

Suffolk Association of Architects Cambridge Trip (07.10.2011)
 We were fortunate enough to be invited on the SAA annual trip. This year the venue was Cambridge and included visits to some truly fantastic buildings. The highlight of
the trip was the opportunity to walk length of the vault space of the Kings College Chapel - a staggering feat of engineering.
Many thanks to the SAA for letting us tag along once again.
Ensors Save The Children Charity Tennis Tournament (07.09.2011)
The Superstructures team entered the Save The Children tennis tournament organised by Ensors Accountants. The team were victorious in the mixed doubles event and as such now go through to the Grand Corporate Tennis Finals at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton in December. Lets hope the trophy makes its way back to the office! The fantastically well organised event raised £1725.00 for the charity.
